7 Predictions For UFC 190 Featuring Ronda Rousey

Posted on Jul 31, 2015

Think anyone has a chance at stopping Rousey at this point? Think again! Jae C. Hong/AP Ronda Rousey returns Saturday night at UFC 190 in the main event, facing Brazilian challenger Bethe Correia in a grudge match that could get downright ugly. If you don?t know who Correia is, that?s fair ? her accolades in the cage haven?t been the most impressive. However, she did beat two of Rousey?s Four Horsewomen to earn a shot at the champion, and Rousey is out looking for revenge. On top of that, Correia made the mistake about cracking wise about Rousey?s father ? claiming later that she had no idea Rousey?s dad had committed suicide. These transgressions have caused Rousey to state that unlike most of her fights, this one won?t end soon: she intended to punish Correia. Elsewhere on the card, the legendary Nogueira brothers fight for what could be the last time, in a rare double bill: Little Nog takes on the equally legendary Shogun Rua, while twin brother Big Nog takes on the tallest fighter in the UFC, Stefan ?Skyscraper? Struve. Add in a heavyweight bout between Antonio ?Bigfoot? Silva and Soa ?The Hulk? Palelei and you?ve got a recipe for an exciting card. Can it live up to UFC 189, a.k.a. the McGregor Show? Well, if anything has a chance, it?s the Rousey Show. Here are 7 predictions for the event? reported Skip to...

Team mate battles: Who?s ahead at the mid-point of 2015? | 2015 F1 season

Posted on Jul 31, 2015

Half of the season is behind us and the driver market for 2016 is beginning to fall into shape. As always the first benchmark for any drievr seeking a promotion for next season is how well they are performing compared to the only other driver who has the same equipment as them. Who?s stolen a march on their team mates so far this season? Who is out-performing the driver in the other car but not getting the breaks when it comes to reliability? And what about that all-important fight over the championship at Mercedes? Four key pieces of data have been used below to compare how each pair of team mates performed during 2014: who qualified ahead (ignoring penalties and sessions where either driver did not set a time), who finished the race ahead (ignoring non-classifications), how many racing laps each spent ahead of the other, and who scored the most championship points. Toro Rosso: Max Verstappen vs Carlos Sainz Jnr Toro Rosso?s ?horrible? unreliability ? to borrow a word from their team principal ? is partially masking what a good job Carlos Sainz Jnr has done this year against his much-hyped young team mate. While taking nothing away from Max Verstappen, the fact of the matter is Sainz has been non-classified on four occasions this year due to technical problems, twice as often as the team?s other driver, and has lost several points finishes as a result. The most recent example was last Sunday, when Sainz?s car expired again while Verstappen took advantage of the carnage in front of him to take fourth place. Red Bull: Daniel Ricciardo vs Daniil Kvyat Last year Daniel Ricciardo caused a sensation by beating four-times world champion team mate Sebastian Vettel in his first year as a Red Bull driver. Now new team mate Daniil Kvyat is showing signs of doing to Ricciardo what he did to Vettel ? make the most of another disappointing Red Bull-Renault. Ricciardo hasn?t had the rub of the green at times: in Hungary he was plainly the quicker of the two but an unfortunate tangle with Nico Rosberg while disputing second place dropped him behind Kvyat at the flag. Williams: Felipe Massa vs Valtteri Bottas The Silverstone race thrust the battle between the two Williams drivers centre stage as the pair unexpectedly found themselves battling for the lead of the race. Valtteri Bottas was unimpressed at initially being told to hold station behind Felipe Massa, which he believed cost him a chance to overtake his team mate. However the margin of superiority Bottas enjoyed at Williams was clearer last year. Massa has hit back, particularly in qualifying, although Bottas was compromised by a back problem. While Massa seized an advantage on the Saturday scoreline, so far Bottas has only narrowly out-performed him in the races. The potential future Ferrari driver would surely prefer to have a...

New Alien film will bring back Newt

Posted on Jul 6, 2015

July 5, 2015 ? no comments New Alien film will bring back Newt liveforfilms Share Tweet + 1 Mail While we wait and see whether Neill Blomkamp?s Alien film can bring back the old team, there are plans for another Alien film. Sonnet Realm Films are working on a film called Alien Identity that will see the return of Newt, along with Carrie Henn who played Newt in Aliens. The film will star Elle Viane Sonnet as Rebecca ?Newt? Jorden, and directed by her husband Adam Sonnet. ALIEN IDENTITY takes place 14 years after the events of Jim Cameron?s 1986 blockbuster, Aliens. It continues the story of Newt, the little girl we all loved, but despised to see perish in vain. They decided to bring back Newt, played by Elle Viane Sonnet as a young woman with an undeniably haunting past and an uncertain future. Sounds like it will be rather interesting and it was always a shame that Newt got killed off at the beginning of Alien 3. Still, if they are somehow bringing Hick back for Blomkamp?s Alien film, I?ve got no problem with them doing the same for this fan made one. ?I love the character Newt. Bringing her back has been something I?ve thought about for years, which is why this film takes place after Aliens, and considers the events of Alien 3 and Resurrection to be cryo-sleep nightmares,? says Writer and Director Adam Sonnet. Ricco Ross (Aliens) will be joining the cast as Richard Frost, the brother of Pvt. Robert Frost, and will also be coming on board as a producer for the film. Carrie Henn (Young Newt from Aliens) is confirmed to make an appearance in the film as Anne Jorden, young Newt?s mother in a flashback. This will be Henn?s first film in nearly 30 years since Aliens (1986). ?I am looking forward to working on Aliens from a different perspective. I can?t wait to hear what all the fans think!? said Carrie Henn. Amongst the many extraordinary people coming on board the project, some of the talents include: Emmy Award-Winning Make-up Artist and Creature Designer, Brian Sipe, Terminator Genisys, X-Men Days of Future Past, and Star Trek: Into Darkness; Celebrity Creature Concept Artist & Consultant, Neville Page, Prometheus, Avatar, Star Trek, Oblivion, and Falling Skies; Saturn Award-Winning Writer/Director Marc Zicree as a writing consultant, Space Command: Redemption, Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II, Star Trek DS9, Sliders, and Babylon 5; and many more exciting names soon to be announced. There will be a Kickstarter for the fan film at some point, but in the meantime you can check out their official site and Facebook Page. Thanks to Malick for the link. Great products to combat hair loss

Posted on Jul 5, 2015

A couple of weeks ago we ran a post to coincide with Hair Loss Awareness Month, to put it mildly we had a massive response, from guys worrying about differing stages of hair loss. So to answer a couple of your questions we?ve sourced the entire industry and looked at and into alsorts of different products, ranging from wild and wacky, to old wives tales, to downright dangerous potions and lotions. But before we start two things have stuck in my mind the entire time we?ve been researching this whole topic. Firstly, there is no magic cure, yes you can have a hair transplant, but currently this is expensive, can be painful and it isn?t always a guarantee to take and then work. Plus, there are a lot of people claiming to offer a cure for hair loss which, basically, just isn?t true and are preying on people?s fears and insecurities. One thing you have to remember about hair loss and that is, don?t ignore it. If you catch it in its early stage you have far more options open to you than if you leave it and think it?ll go away. Firstly, we caught up with leading hair care brand Aveda?s Master Barber, Stelios Nicolaou, who told us. ?My gents that have thin or thinning hair really love the new Aveda Thickening Tonic, it?s great for them because it will instantly add bulk and hold to their hair, giving them a nice pliable texture and thicker looking hair. Some men find that they are only thinning in certain areas of the head, around their crown or hairline for example, so you can customise how you use this product and apply only to the areas where thinning is a specific need. I can feel a change in texture and mass as I apply the product to guests hair, it instantly begins to feel thicker.? Next,  we sort the advice of leading Trichologist, Marilyn Sherlock ? Chairman of The Institute of Trichologists. Are there any brushing techniques to promote thickness or growth ? Great hair starts with a healthy scalp. You could try a Nioxin in salon treatment such as the Nioxin Dermabrasion treatment (like a facial for the scalp). Prep hair with a Nioxin system kit. A good idea is to use a hair thickener such as Nioxin Diaboost which actually increases the thickness of each hair strand. Spray a few pumps into the roots and massage in, then blow dry with large round brush, gently lifting it at the roots, this will give body and lift.Look for styles which will help create the look of thickness. Shorter hair with blunt ends & minimum layers can help hair look thicker, this is why bobs are the most popular for women with finer hair. Also recommend getting your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks to help maintain shape and sharpen the ends of...
