#BepanthenTips: Share your top parenting tips ? especially for baby bedtime!

Posted on Aug 31, 2016

Protecting and caring for little ones can bring about some challenges ? whether it?s getting them up in the morning or putting them down at night. At our #BepanthenTips Twitter chat, we?re talking about your best, funniest and most ingenious parenting tips that make life that little bit smoother and easier. We?d love to hear your tips, as Bepanthen is creating an e-book by parents for new parents with lots of fantastic hacks on protecting and caring for little ones, especially at bedtime. Why? Well, Bepanthen helps put nappy rash to bed by protecting babys? bottoms from the causes of nappy rash. Using Bepanthen as part of your baby bedtime routine can help baby and you have a good night?s sleep and, in turn, an easier tomorrow. We want your best advice, however funny, simple, or unusual! We?re looking for tips on better daytimes, meal times and bedtimes for babies (and parents!), and your best advice for protecting your baby from any accidents, mishaps or ailments (especially nappy rash) to ensure that you make it through the day smoothly. For example, a tip could be to heat towels on a radiator so they?re warm and cosy after the bath, or cut a hole in the tip of a pacifier and stick a dropper through it to administer medicine. Bepanthen Nappy Care Ointment, sponsor of the Twitter chat, is an ideal addition to your baby?s routine, especially at bedtime ? it forms a breathable and transparent layer, helping to protect your baby?s skin from the causes of nappy rash. This is even more important at night-time, when the nappy is on for the longest period of time. The kind-to-bums formulation is free from fragrance, preservatives, colours and antiseptics meaning it can be used at every bedtime nappy change, to protect against nappy rash even on the most sensitive of skins ? making it a great bedtime hack for new parents! The ointment not only helps to protect your baby?s bottom, but cares for it too with pro-vitamin B5. Mums & Tots Round-up: All about birthdays

Posted on Aug 30, 2016

Photo credit: Photographee.eu, Shutterstock This month sees my littlest girl turn 3! I cant even find the word to describe the mixture of love, happiness and pure heart ache that this brings. But it got me to thinking about birthdays and how we celebrate? We are more a ?low key tea party and cake? type of family. Although we have been known to throw a party or two. I will admit though I like to keep things simple, I feel young kids don?t really need much more that the chance to be a bit crazy and eat then leave with something in their hands. (Normally books are our choice of parting gift). So here are some posts to help you on your merry way to a happy birthday party? Joanne has some tips for planning a party and I just love her party bags. So much better that a bag of plastic junk. Of course part of the planning is waiting for your RSVP?s and if you haven?t yet thrown a big party you may not know the worry and frustration that can come with this. Emma hits the nail on the head with this post asking if there is a decreasing etiquette wen it comes to RSVP?s ? But I have to say I?m with her , not replying is rude and leads to awkwardness and embarrassment. Back to the actual party though Jen has a great recipe for super simple but truly gorgeous looking birthday cake. I love that its a one step mix, because I will be honest, I?m a really lazy baker! It looks so effective and delicious though no one would ever know there is no stress to it   I loved this post from Joy about planning partys with sensory needs in mind, it really struck a chord with me. We have to think a lot about our middle child?s environment as he can suffer with sensory overload. Joy has done a lot of research into the best ways to accommodate both sensory seekers and avoiders, it?s a brilliant read. Whilst I bemoan the late summer birthday of my youngest and problems that come with having a birthday in the school holidays. I can?t  imagine the issues that come with having a birthday on Christmas Eve. When half the world is focused on the very next day. Here Susan talks about how they?ve celebrated so far and her plans for future birthdays, would you go for two birthdays like the queen? I think I would. Mechanic Resurrection Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs

Posted on Aug 30, 2016

Summit Entertainment Don’t blame yourself if you didn’t realise it, but yes, Jason Statham has a new movie in cinemas, and it’s a sequel to a surprisingly entertaining 2011 actioner you may easily have missed. The Mechanic came and went without much fanfare, and so it’s a surprise that a studio banked on giving The Stath another go-around with this character, especially with so little effort being put into, well, everything. Yes, it will shock few that critics are piling on Mechanic: Resurrection, which wasn’t even screened for most of the press, as is always a damning sign. Despite a few fun takeaways, this is agonisingly lazy, forgettable action fare and a major step down from Statham’s usual quality. Buyer beware. Here are 3 ups and 7 downs from Mechanic: Resurrection… Suicide Squad: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best Suicide Squad Reviews: 14 Early Reactions You Need To See Suicide Squad: 28 WTF Moments Posted On: 28th Aug 2016 Jack Pooley Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus’ wishes). Posted on Aug 29, 2016

Well the 31st Olympics is well and truly underway in the colourful Brazilian City of Rio and what an opening ceremony. Over the coming weeks we?re going to be witness to events in sports as diverse as the 400Metres to BMXing and Kayaking to Wrestling. And one legacy we have seen from the London 2012 Olympiad is the popularity of the Paralympics, which are due to commence on 7th September. One of the many stars who emerged from the London games four years ago was Jonnie Peacock MBE, who not only won the hearts of a nation but Gold in the 100m T44 final, plus set a Paralympic record in the process. During the Rio Games, his contesting of his title and record will surely be one the hottest ticket of the entire tournament due primarily to the likes of of local boy Alan Oliveira running on home turf and motor mouth and Jonnie?s biggest rival, American Richard Browne, trying to capture the Gold Metal from him. Earlier this year we were lucky enough to catch up with this inspirational Olympic hero during his shoot for Menswear brand, Jacamo, as their face for Summer 2016. Ohh and remember GOOD LUCK JONNIE, AND BRING HOME GOLD !What?s your favourite piece of clothing? Black jeans. If you could give your teenage self-advice, what would it be? Ha Ha, I was only a teenager 3 years ago so it would be a very recent conversation!! It would probably be something along the lines of commit more to the things you care about, but then again, being a teenager is all about trying different things and winning and losing isn?t it? THE BUYER?S GUIDE TO SUMMER 2016 ? BOSSE MYHR ? SELFRIDGES

Posted on Aug 29, 2016

There are very few Department stores that can claim to be, really, world renowned, in fact this store is the only store to be named the Best Department Store in the World three times and if that wasn?t enough, even fewer stores have a heritage and founder so interesting that a hugely successful TV drama could be made on their story. Selfridges, opened its doors on 15th March 1909, by Harry Gordon Selfridge, who arrived in London from Chicago with his heart set on opening his dream store. With his revolutionary understanding of publicity and the theatre of retail, Selfridges flourished under the direction of its charismatic Visionary. Selfridge, literally,  revolutionised not only, the way we shop but transformed it into one of  the nation?s favourite pastimes. He put huge emphasise on creating a welcoming environment for his customer, he positioned merchandise on display so customers could examine it and was the first on place the highly profitable perfume counter at the front-and-centre on the ground floor. Selfridges brought Louis Blériot?s cross channel monoplane on display after its pioneering maiden flight and John Logie Baird made the first public demonstration of some contraption called the television in the store. Today, the expanded portfolio of the Selfridges group, which boasts stores in Manchester and Birmingham, is owned by W. Galen Weston and his family and has continued to be as ingenious and creative in creating a shopping experience as its originator. They have dreamt up such ideas as creating an emerald green boating lake, complete with a waterfall, a boat-up cocktail bar and a forest of Stevia plants or the Big Rooftop Tea and Golf Party which featured ?the highest afternoon tea on Oxford Street? and a nine-hole golf course with ?the seven wonders of London? realised in cake as obstacles. Now the enviable task of overseeing the selection of the vast array of aspirational apparel, gadgets and accessories falls under the remit of this very lucky man, Bosse Myhr, (above)is the Director of Menswear for the Selfridges? Stores. ?We are delighted to be launching Italian based leather goods brand Estemporanea exclusively at Selfridges this season. The brand, founded by Riccardo Ugolini (formerly at Giuseppe Zanotti) and Luca Vicini, prides itself on its minimal design and uncompromising fabrications. This smooth leather backpack is a perfect example of this exciting young brand?s unique vision.? ?This cotton-twill shirt is an iconic part of Thom Browne?s brand and is an essential. After opening a Thom Browne shop-in-shop in Oxford Street earlier this year, we have decided to launch the brand in our Manchester Trafford store this season.? ?In honour of the much-loved 1991 design, this reworked version of the legendary Gazelle trainer from Adidas is one of the brand?s most iconic styles. A must have for any vintage trainer fan. ?Its been almost a year since we introduced Gucci to our menswear edit and the brand has gone from...
