Hello and welcome to the family days out round-up. I am not sure what happened to May, it arrived and disappeared again in the blink of an eye, probably because my kids had a two week half term as the head teacher bolted all five inset days around it, plus we had two bank holidays to contend with too.
I have been inundated with posts from everyone, as the lovely warm sunny weather has encouraged everyone to ditch their raincoats and get out in the fresh air. Tinbox Traveller headed to Hythe in Hampshire to take the Hythe Ferry and explore Southampton on foot whilst My Boys Club headed to Lanarkshire to the Lanark World Heritage site and the Falls of Clyde and to the new Angry Birds attraction (which looks awesome) at Lightwater Valley.
I have wanted to visit Stonehenge for ages and with Isaac studying the stone age at school, I really need to get there soon as it looks like Otis and Us had a great time exploring the stones, but we did squeeze in a spot of history by playing Knights at Corfe Castle. Also on a castle theme, Bumbles of Rice headed to the Tower of London and Side Street Style enjoyed a visit to Tenby and Pembroke Castle.
I have been meaning to take Sebby to a Day Out with Thomas for some time, as we used to take Kian when it was held at Swanage Railway but I still haven?t got there. Plutonium Sox and Autism Mumma both found him at Mid Hants Railway and enjoyed a magical day out with the family, I found some miniature train fun at Pecorama whilst Mini Travellers and Me and B Make Tea found lots of fun with another form of transport at Diggerland.
Days out with kids gets more challenging when they get to the tween / teenage years but Actually Mummy and family had a blast climbing the O2 and Go Ape is another of our family favourite activities and Emmy?s Mummy took her crew to the Ally Pally course.
May / June is the perfect time for beach fun with the kids as it is warm enough for a paddle but they are not packed to the rafters with tourists. Yorkshire Wonders headed to Filey Brigg for some rockpooling fun and Bubbablue and Me headed to North Norfolk for some seaside fun.
Zoo visits also proved popular this month with Podcast Dove heading to Paradise Wildlife Park, Clare?s Little Tots visited Tropical World in Leeds, Emily and Indiana discovered Marvellous Monsters at Longleat and Counting to Ten got up close and personal with some of the animals at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
Thank you for all your submissions and please add any other days out posts to the linky below.
