Like Partners in Crime ? The Return of the PUMA Clyde

Posted on Jul 12, 2016

imageAfter five years off the shelves, PUMA is welcoming back its iconic sneaker, the PUMA Clyde. The return of this classic is kick started by the release of the Home & Away pack, no it has nothing to do with the Summer Bay Aussie Soap.
Back to business, the PUMA Clyde has been inspired by a milestone in the brands rich sporting heritage and interpreted in a modernised way by new colourways and textures. As testament to its timeless qualities the Clyde was originally created in 1973, some 43 years ago, the PUMA Clyde quickly became the sports sneaker of choice in the 70s.
imageThe story began when basketball Superstar, Walt ?Clyde? Frazier, asked the brand for a custom-made pair of PUMA Suede?s. The iconic sneakers were reconfigured from the original Suede?s to suit his legendary colourful style. The Clyde was lighter and wider, and had his signature printed in gold on the side of the sneaker.
This limited edition pack, Home and Away, is made in true Clyde form. Crafted using Italian techniques with premium materials, the pack comes in two contrasting colourways ? peacoat and white, and white with ?PUMA? black hits.
PUMA has created a limited run of 759 pairs to commemorate the number of games Walt ?Clyde? Frazier played for the heralded New York basketball team. Each pair is numbered from 1 to 759 making this pack a must cop for any true sneaker geek, sorry, collector.
