While we wait and see whether Neill Blomkamp?s Alien film can bring back the old team, there are plans for another Alien film.

Sonnet Realm Films are working on a film called Alien Identity that will see the return of Newt, along with Carrie Henn who played Newt in Aliens.

The film will star Elle Viane Sonnet as Rebecca ?Newt? Jorden, and directed by her husband Adam Sonnet.

ALIEN IDENTITY takes place 14 years after the events of Jim Cameron?s 1986 blockbuster, Aliens. It continues the story of Newt, the little girl we all loved, but despised to see perish in vain. They decided to bring back Newt, played by Elle Viane Sonnet as a young woman with an undeniably haunting past and an uncertain future.

Sounds like it will be rather interesting and it was always a shame that Newt got killed off at the beginning of Alien 3. Still, if they are somehow bringing Hick back for Blomkamp?s Alien film, I?ve got no problem with them doing the same for this fan made one.

?I love the character Newt. Bringing her back has been something I?ve thought about for years, which is why this film takes place after Aliens, and considers the events of Alien 3 and Resurrection to be cryo-sleep nightmares,? says Writer and Director Adam Sonnet.

Ricco_RossRicco Ross (Aliens) will be joining the cast as Richard Frost, the brother of Pvt. Robert Frost, and will also be coming on board as a producer for the film.

Carrie Henn (Young Newt from Aliens) is confirmed to make an appearance in the film as Anne Jorden, young Newt?s mother in a flashback. This will be Henn?s first film in nearly 30 years since Aliens (1986).

?I am looking forward to working on Aliens from a different perspective. I can?t wait to hear what all the fans think!? said Carrie Henn.

Amongst the many extraordinary people coming on board the project, some of the talents include: Emmy Award-Winning Make-up Artist and Creature Designer, Brian Sipe, Terminator Genisys, X-Men Days of Future Past, and Star Trek: Into Darkness; Celebrity Creature Concept Artist & Consultant, Neville Page, Prometheus, Avatar, Star Trek, Oblivion, and Falling Skies; Saturn Award-Winning Writer/Director Marc Zicree as a writing consultant, Space Command: Redemption, Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II, Star Trek DS9, Sliders, and Babylon 5; and many more exciting names soon to be announced.

There will be a Kickstarter for the fan film at some point, but in the meantime you can check out their official site and Facebook Page.
